A mix tape made for Jenni Scott.
"The names of the sides kinda gives it away -- it's not a theme collection as such, just a group of really fun and slightly mad songs. This is one of the earliest tapes that Andy did me -- the only earlier one was a Bob And Friends one, where Side One was all Bob Dylan and Side Two was about an eclectic a mix as either of these sides... For ages this was my acid test of 'is the Internet ready for this music business' -- I thought that when I could get all of an Andy mixtape a) in electronic format, and prefereably b) without actually ripping any of it myself, then the Internet could be considered mature. I actually started to pull together these tracks back in 2002 when I first experimented with Audiogalaxy, and more recently some friends helped me out with some of the tracks, but the mighty fine Paul Wibier's Satan (Theme) stumped me for ages, until another friend pointed out a radio feed on which someone had digitized it -- complete with 'clunk' as the tape recorder was stopped.
"Favourite tracks: ooh, a toughy. California Hippie Murders (about the Manson Family murders, with yodelling), the aforementioned Satan (Theme), I Spent My Last $10 (On Birth Control And Beer), and the fantastic Bongwater's Folksong. And that's only Side One..."
