What can I say, I missed a week. Bad me. It's actually Jez's fault. He made me buy the gin. But I'm back with another hour of tunes and no, the new mic hasn't arrived. Probably won't be for a while by which time you'll have grown to love the static. Trust me.

Another good selection - my education continues, thanks
"Let's be surprised together" - nice, feeling more comfortable with a mic in front of you?
Half way through and Ramblin' Man by Lemon Jelly hit me. Liked it so much I loaded the entire podcast into iMovie, edited out all before and all after and saved as an aiff, then imported to iTunes. Now I think I'll get the iTunes "quality" download for 99¢. I identify with the lyrics as well as the music. Thx.
Mick - that was the sort of link I would have done over but since I've instigated this rule of pretending it's live and never re-recording unless it all goes horribly, terribly wrong, it's made the whole thing a lot more fluid. Nice that you picked up on that. ;)
It's odd, the whole thing would be so much easier if I was at a normal DJ desk recording it live.
I guess getting my dad into chill-out trip-hop just makes it all worth while...
Now, if I could just get you to include Richard Thompson (1952 Vincent Black Lightning) and Mary Chapin Carpenter (Alone But Not Lonely) on Podcast 8. . . .
There's actually a Richard Thompson in the pool of potential podcast tracks. Not saying which one...
Stumbled across this - blimey this is better than "proper" radio - more please!
Seriously? Jeezus, thanks!
(Next one out this weekend - I promise)
Best one yet.
How many times have I said that now?
The "hurray, it's spring" opening trio was particularly fine as I listened on an especially sunny morning in a singularly optimistic mood.
Is the Alan Moore, the Alan Moore, who knows the score?
We were watching the 100 Best Albums the other day and complained that none of our Top 10 albums were on there (which we were secretly really pleased about). So we did a quick list of our favourite albums, and Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots was in my Top 10, which is an album I only knew about because of the Pete Ashton mp3's/Podcasts, so you seem to be reaching the lists that other podcasts can't reach.
For the record, in my Top 10 (at this point in time, in no particular order):
How to Operate with a Blown Mind (Lo Fidelity All Stars)
Ladies and Gentlemen, We Are Floating in Space (Spiritualised)
The Wild, The Innocent and the E Street Shuffle (Bruce Springsteen)
Cloud 9 (The Temptations)
Hunky Dory (David Bowie)
Dusty in Memphis (Dusty Springfield)
Yoshima Battles the Pink Robots (Flaming Lips)
You Can't Hide Your Love Forever (Orange Juice)
and two others I can't think of right now but which are bound to be great.
By the way, the Hal album is out on Monday. We saw them supporting St Etienne December 2003 and they were fantastic, (as were St Etienne): Amazon Link.
Actually managed to download it at an internet cafe in Camboland. Keep it up, this is a good way to share, and it's hard to get decent alt. stuff here!

If in doubt just write stuff. I can clean it up later.
