On Thursday, January 20 2005 I posted the following to my linklog...
The Rotters' Club is on telly next week Adapted from Jonathan Coe's excellent novel this has the potential to be quite good.
Would you like to discuss it? Or maybe just go back to the main blog page?

I was just about to fire off an e-mail to you when I saw your linklog entry. Thank goodness they're not moving the location to some other city (like the recent remake of Alfie). I shall make an exception to my rule of no TV for these three evenings!

It's not entirely filmed in Birmingham, though, which will be a little odd since I used to live in the area it's set. The school is somewhere in Ireland, I think (I can't find the reference right now) and I guess the housing estates could be anywhere and still work. I hope they have a fair bit of outside shots, though the centre of town is going to be tricky to pull off!

I'm hoping this'll be as good as The Crow Road adaptation a few years back, which was almost better than the book.

You can use any and all HTML when leaving a comment. If you want to link somewhere, and as long as you're not spamming me I encourage you to do so, it's best to leave the link in proper tags rather than just dump the URL in. For example: <a href="http://www.somewhere.com">somewhere cool</a>.

Posts are automatically formatted for paragraphs so you dont need to use <p> or <br> tags

If in doubt just write stuff. I can clean it up later.
